Among the Fairies

Fairies come to life by the hands of UK sculptor Robin Wight. Constructed out of stainless steel, Wight creates windswept fairies holding onto dandelions in the rain, suspended in midair, weightless and beautiful. To read details on how Wight makes these lovely fairies, visit his website, where you can also purchase a DIY wire starter kit to make your very own fairies!

Paper Birds by Diana Beltran Herrera

These fragile life like birds were made by artist and designer Diana Beltran Herrera. Constructed purely out of paper, each piece is a mix of private commissions for luxury brands that use her work for advertising. If these birds were placed in a tree, one can easily be fooled into thinking they are real.

Herrera is originally from Columbia; she studied ceramic sculptures in Finland and is currently working on her M.A. in fine arts at UWE Bristol. Smart and talented! Check out Flickr for more of Herrera's gorgeous paper birds.

Colorful Liquid Frozen in Time

When colorful splashes of liquid is captured at a shot speed of 1/3500th of a second, something truly awesome is produced. Cassandra Warner and Jeremy Floto recently is responsible for this gorgeous series of photos titled "Clourant." It's as if the liquid sprung from the earth, taking form as sinuous sculptures. These may seem puzzling to several people, but one should appreciate the true beauty and meaning; time and how fleeting it is.

If you would like to see more of the series, please visit their website, Floto+Warner Studio. Prints are available through Vaughan Hannigan.
